As a community-run organisation, we need your support. Your help is welcome however you choose to give it:
- volunteer
- shop at the store
- visit for coffee and cake
- become a member
- make a donation
Volunteer
There are many ways in which you can help , whether it’s manning the tills, helping with cleaning, recycling and maintenance, or just being available on an occasional basis to help out with other tasks. If you can smile you can volunteer! Take a look at the volunteer page to see how you can help.
Shop at the store
It’s an obvious one but the more people who shop at the store, the more we can reinvest into the store and support our community. In return we aim to:
- stock local products
- be open at convenient times
- offer a friendly, relaxed shopping experience
- offer postal services
- respond to the communities needs – if there are products you’d like stocked in the future, just ask!
Meet and eat
We have a lovely bright space at the rear of the store where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a bite to eat with your friends, neighbours or colleagues. With a lovely view of the local countryside our outdoor decking area is perfect for relaxing in the fresh air. What more could you want? High chairs? Free WiFi? USB charging? You will find those too!
Become a member
Thanks to the amazing take-up of our share offer in the winter of 2018/19, around 250 local residents are currently members of the Community Benefit Society established to create and run the store.
The good news is that membership is still open to new residents in the area and anyone who missed the initial offer. It’s not too late to invest in your community and the minimum investment is only £20.
If you are interested, please consult the share offer document, which includes an application form or speak to a member of the management committee.
Make a donation
The maximum you can invest in the Society is £2,000 (ten shares). If you would like to invest more than this, we would encourage you to consider making a donation in addition to purchasing shares. If you would be interested in making a donation please contact Lucy Muncey on 01256 389338.
